What Is A Martyr

What Is A Martyr

A Poem by Easter3
"

Just one possible perspective of what it is to be a martyr.

"

Martyr

Slave to and Master of Ultimate Sacrifice

Will it ever suffice ?

Prometheus

Bound to cold mountain Stone

Chilled to the marrow of his Ancient Bones

Rebel in waiting

Cast from the Heavens for Becoming Humankind’s Bringer of Fire

Fire Bringer

Harbinger of Warmth - of Inspiration, Ingenuity

Of Inventive Envisionings and Desires

Winged Scavengers his only Companions

Come to taunt, rend and tear proud flesh

From a Proud and Courageously Compassionate Soul

Alone on the Mount

Through the perpetually rebounding and innate Strength and Miracles of

Ultimate Sacrifice

Each Day

Made Whole
