Today is Too Beautiful

Today is Too Beautiful

A Poem by Echo086

Today is too beautiful
For you to die.
I wish you had left us
On a rainy day.
Our tears should blend in with the rain,
Not glisten in the sun
They should freeze to our faces,
not be dried by the wind.
They should mingle with the sky's tears
And fall to nourish the Earth.

Today, as our cold bodies begin to thaw,
Our hearts feel the cruel chill of grief.
A day that returned life to us
Took yours from you.
This day should have been simple -
A day of birth and rebirth -
It is too beautiful
For you to die.
Rest in Peace...

I feel kind of awkward commenting as I don't know if this poem is based in any real death... However, I thought this would make a great addition to an epitaph/eulogy! "It is too beautiful for you to die" is just a beautiful way start and end this poem, coming full circle. Really just beautiful.
