A reflection

"

May 9th, 2009

Today I found you
You weren't there
But I felt you hold my hand
As I took a knee and cried


 

Holding my son
Touching Sheryl's face
I told him all about you
He watched the dandelions dance


 

As I sat in the grass
A warm glow and soft breeze
gave us comfort
I saw your smile


 

12 years too long, I know
But peace must be made
Once empty, terra cotta
pots now full of bloom

Author's Note

Effewe
It took me 12 years to find out where my Grandmother's parents were buried and where her ashes were spread. This is just a reflection of the day. My son was only about 5 months old, so of course, he never did meet her. She passed away of cancer at 55 years of age.
