Forget the Son

Forget the Son

A Poem by Effewe
"

Based on a true story...

"

Today's daily dose, tilt it back
let the pain fade, one by one
the liquid medication refreshes
as we forget the son.

Another sip, another laugh, another cry
The latter is only heard by one
Send us another round, barkeep
we must forget the son.

3 turns to 4, 4 to 5
we'll be heavily medicated before we're done
We have to keep up this pace
if we want to forget the son.

Leave the house of sin, enter satan's lair
allow him to carry on the fun
All it takes is a mirror and a straw
And now we surely forgot the son

Awake to a new afternoon
arise to the waning of the sun
Wonder how we got back here
and what happened to our only one?

Our son.  How did we forget?
Looks like our urges might have won
We thought we had it all
but our son...our only son, has moved on.
