Eternally Hope

Eternally Hope

A Poem by Elaenor Aisling

Eternally, the sound of Hope’s wings echo

Beating in fervent, passionate, rhythm.

No sky or land is refused her presence

Her gentle countenance appears

Her spirit pouring forth

To wash men’s fears away

And light the darkened lanterns

Which banish far the night.

The tender heart within her breast

Beats, a cadence for causes and wishes

Despite the growing giants of malice

Which hold their daggers, ready to strike

And cease the steady pulse.
