I Stopped to Think

I Stopped to Think

A Poem by Elaenor Aisling

Until I stopped to think

About the breath I breathed

I valued it not

For what it was worth

And saw, nay I did not see,

I felt it to be a thing

To precious to use so often

And so I stopped

And no more air did I waste

But it was a pity

That I did not realize

That beautiful things should be used

Every day,

For how else may we appriciate beauty?

What a wonderful sentiment. I think this is so relevant for us today- we overlook so much and take for granted the precious things that keep us going day to day. Nice piece!
