Exquisite in hovering from some

Spirit-world, not the hurt girl

Of crying eyes but someone

Else, like intimate flower dreams

Helping little peasants

From the shocked impossible crowds

Foam caught in your heart

I dreamed you escaped the smallness

Of seasons and mortal ignorance

Your stunning inner beauty

Flooding the sun-worlds of futures unknown

Finding your reach in ports of costlier infinity

Soundless, you began communicating without words

Carrying cities in your green echoes

In sheer peaks of mountain charms

Into our golden valley of corporeal things

I dreamed you gave your soul in slippery sleep

To the world's hurt, to a humanity so corrupt

It is at moments after I have dreamed

That I remember the rare entertainment in your eyes

The peculiar mouth of so much wisdom

an intolerant brightness that couldn't pierce

Moments , without your dilemma of flutes

From some enchanted shore of victory with trumpets

My love, who is not my love

My heart, that was never mine to begin with

My soul, of a worldly life I never knew how to live.

Very well written. The phrasing and word choice, as well as the imagery are spot on. I love the enchanted, haunting and somewhat mournful feel of this one. I can imagine this coming from the place of a broken heart, and in this I can relate. This is the poet's heart on the page, in my opinion, and thus it makes the reading smooth and sensual; like peering through an open window into someone else's world. Nicely done.
