Mere Promises

Mere Promises

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Coming from a sleepless night,
the sun is shining on a beautiful day.
I feel your absence the most
on days such as these.
It is often a hard pill
for me to swallow.
You once vowed forever
to me as if it were simple.
It follows me
everywhere I go.
Just the mere promise.
I catch myself apologizing
cause I am all I've got.
Where to from here?
