The Vodka Trap

The Vodka Trap

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Smudged red lipstick
and messy hair.

It all seemed to make sense
at the bottom of a vodka bottle.

Becoming a tipsy girl, unchained.
That's what truly stirred my heart.

Through the haze of slurred words,
I started to feel human again.

Falling into the vodka trap
to give the illusion of company.

If only I had never let go...

Everything makes sense at the bottom of the bottle.
Well, at least for a time anyway.
It's only reality that spoils the drinking companion of the bottle.

yep.. I was a bartender in another life.. seen it too many times.. there are even songs about it.. "help me through the night" alcohol is not a good bed fellow.. and it's no fun to go out with the morning trash..

well done..
