Hush, Hush

Hush, Hush

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I will never forget
the squeeze of your hand,
dirt under the nails.
I will hold your name
sacred between my teeth,
the flavor your
lips left behind.
The long stare,
stolen seconds...
will it stain us?
The morning voice
you spoke in walked
through my shadows,
forgetting every night
we spent apart.
Am I to
hush this voice?

A wonderful poem dear poet. The simple things we remember, we need. I liked the flow of thoughts. You allowed the reader to feel and understand the words. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Reads like a poem to a departed lover

Are they working away or on holiday
Or
Has the relationship ended

We are left to make our own assessment

Not sure what is being communicated here. The speaker is obviously enamored of the addressee, but we are left to wonder whether there is something amiss between them. It depends on what is meant by a "morning voice." Why would the speaker want to hush this voice? Is there something else being conveyed beneath the apparent declarations of devotion?
