Our Jigsaw Parts

Our Jigsaw Parts

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Somewhere down a crowded hallway
were two halves that didn't fit together.
Our jigsaw parts.

I know it's past my bedtime,
but there is a hummingbird in my chest.
Pondering who was supposed to kiss me
and it keeps me awake.

I have wandered on a
cemetery rooftop somewhere.
It was a private moment.
This is all I have right now--
skin & bones,
veins & nerves.
