Transparent/Them

I wish to sleep

But I can see right through you.

I can't stop my eyes

From looking through.

You are like glass.

So transparent.

 

You steal a glance at me.

I look away.

I avoid your eyes

Because I know you can read me

Just as well.

 

I don't understand

Who you are

Or where you come from.

But I know you are different.

 

I wish to know you

The way that They do.

I want you to see me

The way you see Them.

 

I want to be the same as Them.

I want to be Them.

Not me.
