The Things That Hold a Weight in Value

The Things That Hold a Weight in Value

A Poem by E. A. Fielder

The things that hold a weight in value
Unmeasurable in man's currency
But easily skewed
And the burden of change
Is hastily eschewed

a shore I hear
and echoes of another reality
laughter
The tenuity of their sounds
rippling away
To the never ending after

We contemplate on words
on feelings we cannot explain
Searching for a definition
or understanding
but never learn to listen

A walking wheel
Never moving forward
Freedom to move left or right
With momentum keeping you in line

The things that hold a weight in value
Unmeasurable in man's currency
But easily skewed
And the burden of change
Is hastily eschewed
