Hope

Hope

A Poem by Emily B

I fall

like Spring rain

sprinkling the ordinary

with imaginary color.

I drop

drop, drop

from an unseen Hand.

Waiting to be taken

up and begin again,

content in the pattern.

Emily, this is a beautiful representation of hope and hope's life it gives to us. Like rain, it renews us in every way. :)

That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all.”

This is going to sound like self promotion, and it is not, but I think you should enter this into the "Hopeful Poems" Contest. I'm moderating it, and I have to say this piece is perfect for it.

it's been a long time since I entered any contest, but why not?
This poem is beautiful, I think you did a very good job capturing the essence of hope, and what it is. And how nothing is hopeless.

I don't plant a lot of flowers, but i like how some annual varieties have an enormous will to keep going and propagating. Sunflowers, marigolds, etc. The only sad thing is that they only bloom once, maybe twice a year, but they are worth it. Beauty and hope pop up when you least expect it, like this wonderful poem. CD

Lovely poem :-) I like poems that seem so simple, yet so profound.
