A Poem by Emily B
"

A collaboration withy my special friend, An Ornery Gentleman. It is always a pleasure to mix words.

"

amazing when miracles

suddenly manifest

beach-birds rising and circling

high above the Audobon

mystery steeps in unfurled wings

we slow down

for a smile and a sigh

passing gracefully over

barely noticeable steps..

close and hollow..

ghost crabs ephemerally longing

for a moonbeam's generous hands

a universe dispatches

a casual touch

conflict, contrast..

each mating w/in its own species

the spirit is migratory..

eternal as we coexist naturally

lines are blurring

and separation becomes less apparent.

We are woven into the fabric

of the Universe.

we slow down

for a smile and a sigh

and you take my hand

And, yet, somehow

in transcendent moments

we are the miracles.

Yes, Emily, this was an absolute pleasure to write and read...when I got to "lines blurring", the magic of it just sort of washed over me in waves...
It's like I said when I first sent it to you..your essence was already flowing through the words.
From our earlier collaberations, etc..
it was nice dancing w/ you. A joy unparalleled by winning the lottery or anything material...
I'm gonna post my part as a separate piece w/ a link to yours, like the first, except the opposite.

this poem speaks to me of the coexistence of nature and man, and 'though some connections seem subtle, when we discover how we all are connected with each other, we discover this miracle and witness it in us.,.......thank you for sharing :)

We are woven into the fabric of the universe- that is probably one of the most beautiful lines I have read. This is a stunning poem filled with vivid imagery and more importantly a poetic philosophy regarding our place in the infinite. I am happy that I came across this poem.

thank you
Such a delicate, deliberate collaboration. Migratory spirits indeed; would one long journey seem even longer if it was the only one you took? Love the image of ghost crabs, esp in this context of being close and hollow, somehow I feel like we are mostly these wandering shells.

incredible diction and imagery. what a surge of energy this is! "mystery steeps in unfurled wings" as if we are all rising upon drafts of heat helping us to soar."in transcendent moments we are the miracles" when we momentarily feel what we are a part of, rather than apart from, this is when the reader joins the speaker's invitation to belong. dear work, good poet.
