rough work

rough work

A Poem by Emily B

You aren't the same man

any more.

Your mirror lies

if the reflection you see

hasn't changed.

The weight of hard years

lifts from your shoulders

day by day

and ordinary

miracles are still worked

by extraordinary hearts.

Light shines

so often

from unexpected sources.

I am amazed

at the transformation.

I am amazed
at the transformation

A simple but powerful piece. When somebody at the bottom still has light inside of them and can use it to tranform themselves for the better it is amazing. An unrecognized miracle that happens everyday and that we never see for the smog. Well done and bravo:)

The crux of this poem is that miracles are still worked by extraordinary hearts. One would think it obvious that you are one of those.

and then you speak of a transformation...riveting....it was refreshing to watch a male form take the place of woman...he too can change into something beautiful.

Emily is one of the poets I always read regularly and each time I find a fine new poem, and this is no exception. The verse...Light shines....is an absolute jaw dropper, and the whole poem is full of wisdom and simplicity.Great Work.
(And your name is great.... Emily Bronte and Robbie Burns are great namegivers!)

:) Beautifully done. Neat, clean and profound. I wanna be this guy. I've been longing for a transformation lately. And I could use a few of those unexpected miracles, too. Fantastic piece....as always...you never cease to pluck the soul chords.

Cheers!
