My Poison Apple

My Poison Apple

A Poem by Emily Marie

Mirror Mirror on my wall, who is the fairest of them all?

Mirror Mirror on my wall,

Lose your grip and let me fall,

Back into my grim motivation,

Of saltine crackers and dehydration.

With boney models decorating my room,

And rancid puke masked in perfume,
Little monsters whispering in my head,

And Tupperware bowls hidden under my bed.

Mirror Mirror on my wall,

Get me ready for the ball,
Push me ‘til I’ve reached the end,
Too far gone to be able to mend.

A guilty sense of pride in my core,

And yet still feeling like a dirty w***e,

So beaten and damned by all this stress,
Such ugliness wears a fairy tale dress.

Mirror Mirror on my wall,
Go ahead and give it your all,
I give myself so you may feed,
Break my bones and watch them bleed.

Make my reflection one I’ll resent,

Trick me to think I’ll never reach decent,
Hand me a knife and then watch the show,
Dear poison apple drive me so low.

Mirror Mirror on my wall,
Who knew they could stand so tall,

The other people prettier than I,
The ones I’ve come to envy and despise.

Emptiness made present within,

I’m sized no bigger than a sewing pin,
Left cold on the ground where I bled,
Leave me alone for I’m good as dead.

Mirror Mirror on my wall,

Everyone else now you shall call,

Lift the curtain so they may see,
what has now become of me.

XD thanks ily
Don't really have anything to say to this. It's perfect. Raw emotion, eloquent wording, powerful message, good flow... Wow. Just wow. 100/100

A very nice poem. I like the updated version of a old story. The mirror may tell us the truth? Thank you for the excellent poem.

This is an excellent poem about bullemia and self worth. Especially, considering it's coming from a person with such little life experience. It was drawn to the lines: With boney models decorating my room,

And rancid puke masked in perfume,

It was genius. Very good job on this poem.
