Walls

Walls

A Poem by Emily Marie
"

Secret guardians.

"

Morning looms in the distance,

Sun resting on the horizon,

And the Earth repeats the day,

The same way as centuries before.

I can hear the chirping,

Within my bedroom walls,

Mother bird please lock me up,

Keep me safe and sound.

A song that greets the world,

Has always been over played,

It wakes the mind and gets it set,

Stimulates the senses until night falls.

I can hear the chirping,

Within my bedroom walls,

Mother bird please lock me up,

Keep me safe and sound.

Yet unlike other days,

This morning started grim,

When the melody was cut short,

And screams sounded instead.

I can hear the chirping,

Within my bedroom walls,

Mother bird please lock me up,

Keep me safe and sound.

The musical creatures frantic and forsaken,

Where forgotten by the people,

The ones who took their tune for granted,

May never heed it again.

I could hear the chirping,

Within my bedroom walls,

Mother bird was no longer there,

Keep me clean from the blood.

It was me out of the rest,

Who heard the desperation,

The quiet language barely there,

But the tone spoke volumes.

Morning looms in the distance,

Sun resting on the horizon,

Melodies hesitant within my walls,

The lyrics engraved in my head.

A very interesting poem. Walls can lock us in sometimes. I like your description and the vision create by your statements. No weakness in the amazing poem.
