Tea Tree

Tea Tree

A Poem by Emma Ruth

Rooted I am

Cultivated to be the way I should be

Unable to grow, unable to roam

Rooted I am

Little tea tree

But who are you?

Why do you stay?

Here with me, cultivated and pruned

You have no roots, you are not like me;

Be on your way -

You are not a tea tree

Ahhh . . . Whimsical and very effective use of pleasing words for the Tea Tree's lament. Loved the way it spoke to the one close by, it was as once a bit sad, but resigned I'd say.
