Warrior

Warrior

A Poem by Wonderland Asylum

There's a hurricane

brewing in my heart.

Any second now, it will burst.

Ready to unleash every inside.

Finally,

Everything I see is crystal clear.

Nothing can keep me from

conquering my fear.

I may not have won every battle.

But I have won this final war.

Before I forget to mention it – LAST LINE: do you mean “won” instead of “one”!??! Thank you for read requesting me. I don’t see you here in my newsfeed much, so I might forget to read you (I’m old & forgetful), or I might not notice you’ve posted something new. I always enjoy seeing a new poem from you here. I love the way you use the motif of a warrior when thinking about how to attack life. Your words are a huge inspiration for people who are feeling down & out. Sometimes we need to keep pushing ahead & not worry about the places where we faltered. The last two lines really hit home! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

We can get in a turmoil at times with no end in sight - It seems never ending - no solution

Then an answer appears
Fight over
Now a time for peace and recuperation

Lose the word "ready" in the fourth line.

You get a little too gradioise a little too quickly. Add a battle story before the end or something else about whatever. It was pretty enjoyably to read, it could be worth fleshing out.

Good to be a hurricane. Few will mess with you. I liked the energy and the drive of this poem. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry. I enjoyed this one.

Powerful write. I never could predict the lines either which is awesome. It's like someone giving a speech and then they bring up a point no one has yet heard - gaining everyone's attention - that when you finally finish everyone is up in arms finally understanding something that had been in front of them all along but could never quite grasp. That's what I think of after reading this poem. As someone who occasionally uses hurricanes to describe my feelings into words, I never thought of how it can represent clarity, how "[you] may not have won every battle but [you] having won this final war" along with the use of the word final - telling that this clarity isn't short-term or a whim or a hope - it's real and staying the way it is.
Overall really good write (as always :D)
Take care,
- Lavi
