Alley Cat

Alley Cat

A Poem by Empirik

Naturally bound found in a place
where grease lingers in the air
and grime fills the cracks on the brick back-walls
With a fire barrel over three meters to the right
There is a safe green dumpster to the left
Everything is wet
Night has fallen hard
Black shadow beauty carefully cleaning after a feast
In the alley wearing dark fur
Beaten by the weather
"Feline Fetal"
Pure
In an area of slums and bums, yet
She still maintains rested looks
Gazing up right through you
A sober luscious sense of peace rolling over the wide-open hills in the wind
Watching for a while, it is clear to produce a moral struggle in mind
Stuck in a place of filth and despair
Balanced and fair, yet
She has the most marvelous hair and keen beauty ever seen
Being tender and gorgeous
Sniffing over you with soft eyes
Full of grace and surprise in the sweetest little cries
Purring emotions wave
Through life's cave
Exposing how she likes to misbehave

That cat is a very special one. As she came to you through the night, As I feel this is written in Europe some how... and give you heads. That's almost a good script for an abstract fairytale, with an raw wink. The last line is the wish of the writer... ;) wonderful exposed.

Another thing, I feel this hangs as a painting in a very exclusive gallery, and where people stop to watch the catch cats eyes, and learn her behaviour through the painters oil on the canvas, just by staring black isn't a pure color, as green illuminates, and her hair is like the early 20's.

Wonderful creativism.
100! for your dare, and in mind 100 for your flair, another 100 fictive points cause it's fair.

A brilliant composition. Love the end rhyme here.

The depiction of the alley is fabulous. The details are precise enough to be the beginning of a short story. But then again this poem does indeed tell a bit of a story. There's this wonderful contrast between what is seen in the beginning to what is seen at the end. Absolutely wonderful writing!

I really like how the feel of alley is accurately portrayed. The dirt and grim yet there lives a cat. My favorite domesticated animal. I think there is a little alley cat in all of us. Thanks for sharing this awesome poem.

I adore this.......I have often been compared to a cat myself......you know, don't squeeze me so tightly, I can't breathe, I'll come up hissing and scratching and ready to leave. I laugh because it is so true.......A cat will let you hold it for only so long but when it is ready to get down, you best let it go......;)

I never used to be a cat lover. But about two years back, we adopted one. They are the most amazing creatures. They can be both graceful and stupid. I think your poem captures the essence of these silly and furry little hair balls of joy. :)
