Return love to me

Return love to me

A Poem by EmpressPoetess
"

A break up poem

"
Dark imprints of my sadness
shadowy flecks across my heart
once filled with happiness
until you broke it apart

Once overflowing with love,
misery now fills my cup
a mixture of pain and tears
I need love to fill it up.

I can see our bedroom silhouettes
soft prints where you used to lay
you nestled against my breast
as we whispered the night away.

Missing you is hurting me
And breaking my heart in two
You took away my fantasy
Now bring back all I gave to you.

Bring it back, give it back to me
Embrace me with in your arms again
All I want is what you took from me
Your tender love, minus the pain.

Ah, a rhyming poem. I'm afraid I just don't see enough of these nowadays. I love it. You paid attention to rhyme and didn't force it, and you gave it rhythmic flow. Very nice. I do think, however, that the last line could be arranged a bit differently, maybe "without" instead of "minus" but that's a personal preference. Overall, very, very good.

This is beautiful, even though it's very sad! I love the flow and imagery. When was reading I could feel the pain the want of his love.

that last line was brilliant...leaves me thinking - how can we love again without the memory of pain....this had an amazing emotional flow and soothing to it...you don't call yourself an empress for nothing - Queen of Queens indeed...Queen of hearts.

loved how you ended the poem....
your tender love, minus the pain...

Wow Empress!

This poem is so beautiful. The longing that you conveyed was so vivid that it made my own heart feel heavy with dispair....How I've missed you expressions!!

This is so beautifully bittersweet, like a song of longing and desire... Your words are filled with the feelings of love's saddest reflections.. looking back.. seeing all the joy.. yet walking now into the pain and shadows... wishing... Such a sorrow flowed over me..
