I was at another poetry slam. I was given a topic and had 5 minutes to come up with a poem on that topic. Isn't one of my best. No edits. Eh, well

Topic: Dark.

 

I’ll engulf you,

Take you on a trip.

Whenever you think of light,

I’ll consume your mind with my color.

You won’t escape me,

You’ll learn to love me.

I’ll travel from your mind,

Down your heart,

And into your soul

I’ll absorb the life out of you,

You’ll only see the world in shades of gray.

Try to see reason,

I’ll rip your eyes out.

Try to think logic,

I’ll melt your brain.

Try to feel love,

I’ll crush your heart.

Try to get rid of me,

You’ll never forget my name.

I am dark,

Welcome to my reign.
