Empty Society

Empty Society

A Poem by EnglishMajor55
"

Society always looks like it offers way more than what it really does...*

"
A man was searching for food in an empty fridge
brand named society.
So much promise the fridge did hold,
but with the nothingness he found
 - diet did he.

He frequently checked it, opened and closed,
unfortunately the fridge possessed not a thing to see...
with the nothingness he found
 - dying was he.

Lying next to the fridge on the floor by himself,
finally the man looked up and realised: there's food on the shelf.
He knew there was no energy to spare,
he stood up and tiredly pulled closer a chair.
With his last strength he stretched but couldn't reach.
And
when he finally did fall
his last breath was
 - life is a b***h.

Awe, I'm sorry. He needed a friend to serve him.
