A Lame Game.

A Lame Game.

A Poem by Mehak Mushtaq

Will it cost so bad?
Loving some one who makes you sad.
Unconditional love breaks no bones,
It breaks your soul to moans.

It's like no thorn, like no rose.
It has its own harvests and sows.
It kills no one whole,
Torments to the fragments of soul.

Do you believe,
That such love succeeds?
I've loved such love for a thousand years.
It yields life after showers of tears.

The sun never rises to light,
But, to fight away the night.
Stars don't shine to delight,
But, to kill the evil of the night.

Wait - patience enthrobs the heart;
Believe - faith fights despair;
Flow - need not walk, be carried;
Know - good goes around and bad comes around.

Life is a little misery and a lot of joke.
A story, a fiction not a folk.
Take it easy or be stern.
You can't be prepared for unknown turns.

But I can assure one thing.
Stability, it will bring.
A time when you will have to choose,
Whether let go or watch yourself lose.

Decide whatever. the end is same.
Love will come as a visitor lame.
And will come again or stay today.
You can't fight, you gotta watch it play.

Those two stanzas stood out to me, they were definitely my favorites. This whole poem was very strong, and had lots of emotion and truth to it. Most of it flowed quite nicely, you did a wonderful job with it (:

This poem had some strong moments. A little awkward in the wording at times. The 5th stanza was the strongest part. The last stanza was out of place and should be done away with...
I get it. I just didn't feel it at all.

Thanks Keegan. :)
Words of such great wisdom from a sixteen year old! You raised my hopes in the first few stanzas to bring them down in the last two.
Very well written Mehak. The poem is brilliant in parts. The language is simple yet captivating. The message is interesting!
Carry on writing!
