truth or dare.

truth or dare.

A Poem by Madison R. Forest
"

I don't even remember the smell of your hair, but I'm sure the full moon does.

"

you said you would draw my portrait
because you loved my eyes
i said i could never hope
to paint yours.

because honey, it's not that easy
to catch will-o-wisps of passion
that wander your heliodor iris
such fierceness is beyond me.

and darling, i just can't bring
myself to muse on the chroma
of your skin or the fabrics
of your lips i'll never kiss.

you said you would sing me sad songs
because you missed me
i said i could never find
the right words.

because honey, no matter how feverly
i wrap my mind around your rose hips
i can't describe their tango
and virtue won't let me join in.

and darling, it's so deceiving
when even poetry can't quench my thoughts
i claim to be a writer, lovely
but it seems you're beyond my ink.
