Where I Once Stood

Where I Once Stood

A Poem by Episomnus

Tall above the coast,

A shining city of light.

Our gardens adorned the coastal hills,

And we would dance to the melody of the night.

But then War came,

With His three horsemen friends.

They ravaged through our people.

Strength, I prayed, He would lend.

But then five through seven broke,

And I knew our time was spent.

The city danced into the sea,

And from the mountain the gardens were rent.

I lie here now,

In the eternal city of light,

At the bottom of the sea

Dancing to the silence of eternal night.
