The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life

A poem rich in comparisons and ideas.

The Tree Of Life

Once thrived,

but to Love

it was Refused.

The Tree Of Life -

it Craved

A kiss although

its lips were bruised.

The Tree Of Life

Cries out at night

and wakes the

Sleeping Beast.

The Sleeping Beast

awoke and with a devilish howl,

he smiled through the

world's scowl.

The Beast, he SCARES the Tree of

Life, to the point of no return.

The Tree, she thinks, ironically

You Live And You Learn.

The Tree Of life,

has grown weak.

it is broken, tattered.

ABUSED.

The Ruthless Beast

he is enthused

by the prospect of Life's Death.

The once peaceful people see nothing

of this destruction. Their busy causing

their own.

The Beast Feeds off of the hatred

thats pulsing through the earth.

While the Tree, she yearns for

Love, and Hate deteriorates her Self-Worth.

OH, The Tree of Life! It musn't

die. It must remain in tact.

For if the Tree of life Deserts us,

the only option left is FIGHT BACK.

But STILL we feed

this Terrifying Beast

with every angry thought . . .

Because We Never Learned

To Love. . .Or Maybe We

Forgot.

What a brilliant, metaphoric dance of thought.. How life and love flow from the same river, and must not be removed from each other.. Your last lines awaken a hope of remembrance..
