You said

Peace all around but the chaos is in my mind 

How do I bring the peace back into my life

I feel the crisp air against my cheek 

the birds chirping in my ear 

I sit alone on the mountain taking it all in 

I'm calling out to you God pull this peace into my heart 

heal me, protect me and be with me 

You have seen it all

 you are the only one who knows 

Knows the depth of what happened

The depth of the pain and the deceit

I don't deny that you were there

  you are here now 

You saw

I heard you so clear the other night

A message brought to me

For only my ears

 You knew what I needed

I heard it but more than that I felt it

 there's no way to deny it

 In time you said

slow down 

cling to the truth and never forget it

 You brought the people I needed in my life 

they are part of this journey

 You said wrap that love around you,

 embrace it never forget it. 

One day when the peace comes you will remember this day

 it will all have been worth it I promise

Just have to say I love the way this poem looks on the page. Before I read it, I just looked at the way the words were laid out: it's very evocative somehow. I often forget about the little details like that.

I had to read it a couple times because half way through, it became a very speedy poem, and I couldn't get a handle on the details and that is why I love to read, to let the details of the writers' piece sink into me, however I really like it!! I really do! I realized the speed of it is completely accurate for this poem. It just keeps going and going and going. Nice :)
