Conflicted Soul

Conflicted Soul

A Poem by Grey Evanescent
"

Tell me, how can I win against myself?

"

Three more steps

Trembling hands

Pursed lips

I begin to doubt

Do I really want this?

Do I really want to tie my life,

on this string of rope?

A sense of hesitation whispered

to my consciousness clouded by anger.

So G-d help me

Help me in this war

In this war I cannot win

For how can I win against-

Two more steps.

How much tempting can death be?

How much sweeter can a noose be?

How much stronger can I ever crave for something?

So G-d help me,

Help me in this war

In this war I cannot win

For how can I win against-

One more step.

One.Last.Step.

How much closer can freedom be?

How much reachable can death be?

How much calmer can I ever be?

So G-d help me.

Help me in this war

In this war I cannot win.

For how can I win against... myself?
