Stained Glass Windows

Stained glass windows in shades of gray
Describe the prison in which I stay
Window panes of blackened hearts
Shattered pieces of broken parts

The shards lie around the floor
Held prisoner by the bolted door
In the glass my life reflects
A shattered heart I can't correct

Littered all around cold tile
My broken spirit dies in style
Rain attacks the colored glass
The grays are mixed in swirling mass

This is where I lie and wait
Watching as it grows too late
As the outside sky fades black
My spirit fades, not to come back

There is so much sadness behind your words that the reflection is so clear and sharp. I love how honest your words have turned out and how they relate it to hope. :)

I could feel the sadness in the words.
"As the outside sky fades black
My spirit fades, not to come back"
Hard to see the light of hope when our vision is stained with regret and sadness. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
