A Dream to Fly

Year poem was written: 2013

      The human soul thirsts for a desire,

            a desire we can never have.

      Our hearts long for tremendous liberty,

            no longer enslaved by land.

 

      The mind wishes for great wings,

           ones we can outstretch afar.

      Mankind craves for the great breeze,

           felt amongst the clouds.

 

     Deep within we beg for them,

           seeing it in dreams.

    We want this dream to be real,

           a dream to fly.

This is absolutely sweet and so calming to read. Your message is powerful and perfectly encrusted into each stanza. Freedom, a true dream of mankind, a way for mankind to be like that of a bird and fly high into the open air. Free as a bird, as the saying goes.
