The Fallen

Year poem was written: 2013

      Death abounds in the face of hatred,

           violence trails on.

      Sorrow swims within rivers of blood,

           streaming through broken hearts.

 

      Courage stands strong in darkness,

           bringing light forth.

      Safeguarding liberty and life,

           by sacrificing their own.

 

      Rewarded with an eternal legacy,

           given honor in our history.

Author's Note

Written on this day in honor of those who died during the 9/11 terrorist attack.
