What's so hard to understand?

It's just the way I am.

I'm a boy and I'm a girl.

I'm not confused,

I AM.

So let me dress the way I want,

and be what I want to be.

Whether you like it or not,

If you don't like it,

Well, tough luck.

I ain't takin' it no more.

This is the way I want to be.

It's just how I was born.

How am I wrong if this is me?

And why do you even care?

How would you know what it's like in my head,

If I'm not willing to share?

Now, I'm telling you so that you know,

Not asking what you think.

No matter what,

I'm gettin' out of this rut,

I'll be what I want to be.

Alex. This is outstanding. Though simple, it's complex. It's powerful. I love seeing these things through your eyes. We say something as simple as, "That's so gay," or "You're a f*g," and instantly, you come up with this, and say, "So what, it just means I love everybody. And so what, you're so unoriginal." It's said in an almost calming tone. I have a lot of respect for you.
