Dig

Dig

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

DIG
Can you dig it?
wrenching wrist twist
core the apple dig it
would you hook
IT
would you
peal, pull,  please....
spill spread, separate the
GUT
INTESTINES of
life and
gall sensibilities with
liver bleeding lies and
TAKE
metastasized cancer ...putrefied
proliferation blitz newsies???
                                                     can you
                                                                                     dig it?

This poem speaks to me vividly of many things like cancer, E. There’s much in our societies that feels like that, the corruption, the greed and of course the newsies! Yet life itself feels like cancer to me sometimes, with it’s super deep, wide spread, far reaching tentacles into the tender muscles of the earth. Vivid and inspiring words! I loved it! 💕

I like you ask us to think.
So many times people never think what they will do and or how they will be forever changed.
When one gets the look and news there is nothing left but to get at it.

The news can break your heart and or leave you outraged.
Wow, hard hitting inquiry that has a visceral quality to it 'E'! Love the structure as it cascades and makes the reader think twice.

Oh. I loved that movie. Though as always there is something in the underneath, that's literally the first thing that sprang to mind

YES....I do! I am a recovering political junkie that owns a vegetarian restaurant so you got me on both counts good friend... I am finding it less and less easy to maintain my sanity when watching morning Joe with mine.... so I have been in a bit of a withdrawal as of late. I of course will actively campaign when the time is right again but for me today i have to step back from it and get my morning Joe from writers cafe! As for the cancer part of the story that's what I do... organic and meat free diet for my cancer patient customers it is amazing what we eat in this society be it literally or figuratively. Brilliant as always good sir!

After reading some of your reviews, I can see how others read this message as being about the bodily curse called cancer. But I was reading your message as being the cancer that threatens to eat away at the basic fabric of democracies around the world lately it seems. My response to the worldwide madness is to DIG . . . I'm a head-in-the-sand kind of gal . . . I'm buried deep in the boondocks as a hideout from the cancer that's invading so many places! *eeeek!* Fondly, Margie

When the cancer patient goes to synthesis what began as faith and prayer cloth becomes a world of angry limitations. "Now this s**t is serious" you tell yourself. And you watch your blood going into bags for the first time and everything, everyone, every sound and every beep you become shamelessly aware of.
So this is hope or it's not a poem. it is otherwise the squash of humans drooping their sad leaves in the blistering sun....Yet

like those figurative Black poets of the late 1960's you cast and recast the world in its own image. The poem is about keeping faith and that like synthesis, the poet can be a scary person sometimes......great poem.....dana

This is deep and eye-opener. And just like Cancer eats away at society and life and humans in general. Love the way you express yourself.

How many are really able to connect with their essence, or the essence of others, or even the essence of life? how many are really courage enough to take the tough road to do that, many will only dwell in the shallowness of life, yes it would be easier than to use their minds and raise their awareness.

Brilliant poem my friend.

What I don't get is how on one hand so many are so intolerant of others yet eat up the crap our leaders feed us with such an appetite. Your poem has a strong voice, cancer exists in many forms.
