"...descended into hell..."

"...descended into hell..."

A Poem by F. Mary Jesson

“...descended into hell…”

A long way down

Such a very long way down

One little step

Just one little step

Switch to my mind’s eye

Arms wide

Point my toe

Wind in my face

Rushing past my ears

Around me and through me

Washing me clean

Down

Down

Down

No fear

No effort

Free-falling and

Falling free and

Free to fall

To descend into hell

Into The Hole

Feel the snap and

The Wolves let go of me and

I let go of the Wolves

And now I’m leaving The Hole

Ascending into heaven

Weightless and

Careless and

Forgiven and

Free

I think you just took me down there - felt all of it. Nicely done.
