It's All Lies

It's All Lies

A Poem by Jazzlyn B Barden
"

This is a poem about someone who fell in love, but then realized that who they were in love with never really loved them, and that everything they had ever said was only a lie.

"

You’re the unmade cuts on my wrist,

and the one true smile that still exists.

You’re the gravity that holds me down,

the one and only loving sound.

I wish I could say that’s true,

but now it’s all just lies.

Now there’s cuts I can’t erase,

and my smile falters everyday.

Now I’m floating in Outer Space,

and there’s taunting voices all around.

Please help me now, I’m on the ground.

I wish you could understand,

that without you here I can barely stand.

Now there’s tears stained on my cheeks,

but tears are only for the weak.

I was so confident and strong,

but now I’m lost inside your eyes.

I confused reality and entity all along,

and now I am noticing all your lies.

Your love wasn’t true,

and now I’m very blue.

Those three words were what made me die,

because it was all just a lie.
