There’s so many things to be grateful for

It just takes a matter of time
To see the beauty that
Surrounds you and settles
An unrested mind

Just look a little and you
Will see the beauty before
You
Set out there
For you and me -

For everywhere you look
In every cranny corner
Or hook
There’s a simple smile
A shining star
A grateful heart
A bird that sings
A flower in bloom
A song -

Reminding us of where we
Belong

It takes just one hurtful word
A gesture cold and quite
Absurd
To break a heart
To tear apart
A soul so special
Pure and true

Because of selfishness
That lies within you

Why live a lie
Life is short
It cannot be bought

So don’t get caught
In the mis-use
Of innocent thought
It demands all costs
It strips it steals
Removes what’s real-

So search your soul
And inside you will
Discover
That there -
Love happiness and freedom
Is part if the reason
We are here-

To share and show
For another day
For love to grow-

Don’t doubt the power
Of uplifting another
For in your kindness
You shall find that a weary
Mind
Needs only love and laughter
Its what’s been sought after-
So extend a hand
Open the door to another land -
Where kindness
Love
Joy

Will abide forevermore
If you just show a lost soul
The way to go

Forget what life dictates
And live true to the internal
You
That’s all that one must do
To see true love shine through-

You don’t need to break others
To be true to you-

Just love yourself
And let the true love
Shine through

A love to share
Between two

This is the most well-balanced piece of inspirational writing I've read in a long time. I love that you address our dark tendencies, as well as urging us toward a lighter way of being. You do this without condemnation, but gently. I believe that when we fight the darkness, it gets more ferocious. The way to change one's perspective is to acknowledge the darkness, but focus on the light. This feels like how your approach is in this poem. Thankyou for your kindness and understanding- my thoughts and wishes exactly but sadly each chooses their own way - I wish I could help ppl see things differently at times but I guess all brains are wired differently and some people don’t see positive or light at end of tunnel or whatever it is that brings them sadness or discomfort- I pray that people find the courage and way to see things differently and more positively ?? I’m not perfect but we are as we believe 🌹

i just read "Foible" by Mrudula Rani .. a senryu about judging others ... a perfect compliment to your "True Love Within You" ..we get so busy with all the "stuff" of living .. work, pay the bills, have a nasty boss or co-worker etc etc ... your poem lifts us up from that in the most simple way ... give a smile to someone else .. appreciate the air we are breathing, the glory and mystery within all creation ... our selfishness is a crippler isn't it!? glad i did not miss this Ms. Thoughts! :)
