Dancing In The Rain

Every time you take a breath

Someone, somewhere loses one

And every time you take a step

Somebody is made incapable

And every time you take a life

Another one is made

For every time you change the world

It becomes again the same

 

I call it cycle, like a wheel turning round

Like how when here the sun sets

It rises somewhere else

Like every time a wave creases

A different on recedes

Like every time a tear falls

The oceans lose a drop

 

Philosophy or prophecy?

Or maybe just pure luck

Or maybe just blunt knowledge

Or maybe simple dreams

What lets us know the truth

From our imagination

And what seems to pull the plug

On human abomination

It could be just simple facts

Its explanation must be endless

And listening to words is simply listless

And thinking about it makes me restless

And it makes me feel a little pain-

But the whole world seems to fade away

When you’re dancing in the rain.

 

Because rain is everywhere you turn

Falling from our hearts

Falling from our eyes

Falling from the skies

Like rain it always falls

And yet it never rises

Back to the clouds from where it was let

 

And rain, my friend, is my only friend

Really, the only thing that’s constant

Because rain seems to…

Wash away everything that causes worry

It allows for a new start

And a new beginning

And it lets me look around

And see a better something

Which is why the world fades away

When you’re dancing in the rain

 

You should try it sometime

I really swear you should

Let the cool drops fall to your shoulders

And weave rivers through your hair

Catch it in your hands

Hold it till it runs away

Spinning, giddy

Young and happy

Dancing in the rain

 

It really is the cure for all

Sickness and disease

Because rain is the only thing

To make you truly clean

And it helps keep you from think

Of that little pain

That comes when you’re thinking

Instead of dancing in the rain

I love this poem! I also wrote a poem about the rain, but I think your's is more imaginative. I love the way the poem flows and your imagery. Great work! I certainly will think of rain differently now and see the beauty in it. Your poetry can certainly change how one views things.
