Resuscitated sunset.

Resuscitated sunset.

A Poem by R.A. Youngblood

Resuscitated sunset

Sitting at the top of the building.

Enchanting sun is watching me,

And bleeding.

Blood dripping in the skyline.

It’s some kind of sunset,

A real one,

Resuscitated sunset.

The blood is scattering all over the sky,

Making strange shapes.

It’s drawing.

Drawing something

We used to be,

We should be,

And who we are now.

I found this horrible,

Standing all aghast.

Happiness diminished,

Tears pricking the corners of my eyes.

The sun rays,

Lighting the world,

Creator,

Bleeding.

And we’re just watching this,

Resuscitated sunset.

Beautiful!
I like the imagery here, and the free flow.
While reading this, I imagined the sky, being painted like a canvas, with all the brilliant colors of the rising or setting sun, most prominently red, blood red.
I like the image of the red being scattered across the sky like blood.
Well penned!

Yeah heh :P thanks
You reflect on a failed relationship by comparison very well here. The way you describe the setting sets up a good image that becomes disturbing in the end. Nicely done.

Thank you :D
I love the image of the sun quite literally dying here as it sets. The bold and violent colors that come to mind are painful and beautiful. The idea that it must continue to bleed for us, every day. I think you did a great job here. Well done!
