Countdown

Countdown

A Poem by Faladah

From a thousand trees
came nine hundred tears.
When they broke down
and I smoked their ashes.

From seven hundred nights
I kept remembering one.
The one with six hundred tears
fallen from my eyelashes

For five hundred days
I kept waiting here alone
with only four hundred words
from which I remembered one

After three hundred hours
I took two hundred pills
who were removed by ten,
and left me to be a no one.

And when hundred came,
I forgot to count further.
Because night's where longer,
then a million days in the sun.

But I remember the feeling
your looks and your smile
and after days of counting,
you're still the only one.
