Two People

Two People

A Poem by Follan

Two people,
Clueless,
Even if their fates are so twisted together,
Even the Fates can't help,
One under a willow tree holding a red rose,
The other weeping under a hemlock spruce stepping on a white rose,
Two people,
Both hurt,
Even if they know it's nothing,
Even if they know they don't have to care,
One clutching a white lily,
The other waiting for tulips to bloom,
Clueless ,
Both lost,
Not knowing that the next time,
Both of them will be under a willow tree ,
Holding a blue rose, grimacing
Not knowing the hemlock was waiting,

I love the thought you took writing this. I didn’t know the meaning for all the flowers so I had to look some up…
Red rose- love
White rose – purity
White lily – Virgin Mary (looked this one up…weird)
Blue rose – love and prosperity
Is that what you had in mind?
Nice twist on a love story, very sweet! I really enjoyed it!
