Yo Smite (middleburg suburb)

Yo Smite (middleburg suburb)

"

ribbon of seventy, from the rebel stronghold
where wallace would wield his power and name
follow the path of the green, the young and old
fromerly served bythe Kings Mountain train

I s'pose it's alright in Yo Smite down in crazy
but there's no sidewalk or concrete curb
same goes for Dunnville, where it gets hazy
from flyin' Dutchman's to the Middleburg suburb

Montgomery corner stones and Protestant homes
there's no liberty in Weddleville, so sad to report
scream and shout, when in doubt, write poems
back to the forty nine, fleeing the Kangaroo court

along to Atwoods and down Steele's mountain
racing through Jacktown bottom, over Indian Creek
at last to the mouth of Rush, the Big South fountain
where Quantrill rode, now freedom we seek
