Mislaid.

Mislaid.

A Poem by Fay Slimm

Mislaid.

We lived through a blaze of debate-soaked relationship
mindless of hearing's real worth.

We shuffled in biased cut-price ideas of winner-related
pretensions to hide feelings.

Agreement went into time's melting pot as shut-eyed
we arranged private new worlds.

We talked ourselves into dry ground, regrets denied
we got drowned in power's wheel.

Love's ultimate non-sound got mislaid between words
and lost was repair's quiet dance.

Shall we reconstruct silence and give Us a last twirl

of the dice to find what matters.

might be worth it to do that...communication is key in a relationship...and sometimes all we do is argue, talk over the other...not listening...just battling...
like simon and garfunkel sang..."people hearing without listening"
a quiet dance might work...if we give our partner a chance to speak and be heard.
really like the metaphor here....

We can be careless with words and thoughtless when it comes to listening and some talk too much. Communucation is key in relationships though. More loving, more dancing and more eye contact. Plenty of ways to communicate other than using words. Nicely conveyed Fay.
