Oh Maiden Fair

Oh Maiden Fair

A Poem by Wayward Soul

Sunlight flicks through golden hair,
Eyes gaze into a book,
What worlds are there oh maiden fair?
What darkness lurks ahead?
As every page helps set the stage for good to show its light,
Clashing up against the forces of the horrid night.

Oh maiden fair, I can but stare,
At the shy smile that crosses your face,
And the sparkle in those eyes as you bid the world farewell,
Off to worlds of magic, worlds of might,
To times of grief and times of strife,

Oh maiden fair, what stories are there,
What magic lies behind those eyes,
Perhaps one day we might away,
To worlds of our own design,

Oh maiden fair, I can but stare,
At the beauty that lies within,
But I am shy and dare not try to ask for you to look,
At the words my true self writes, hidden within these books.
