Veil of Maya

Veil of Maya

A Poem by Robert Rittel

Illusion of the world and oneself

The fundamental concept of illusion

making belief to create false conclusion

phenomenal illusion as cosmos is real

reflecting humans rational deal

which is in reality the spirit supreme

identical proportions in dream to feel

deities of oneself  therein

sacred entity of sky divine

joining eternal realm of spirit be

aspects to reality one cannot see

blinded to the source by veils

cultured gaps as zeitgeist fails

strive for perfection bible

realizing the impossible

discern of truth that lifts

the veil of reason shifts

to be a part of the ultimate

natures law very intimate
