Perfectly Broken

Perfectly Broken

A Poem by Findmeinfillory11

The start of something bigger

Somewhere between madness and wounded souls,
Beneath the frozen tundra,
But above the molten coals.
Where time freezes,
And reality ceases.
A land where sanity is only for the weak.
And humanity is erased by the words they refused to speak.
This land has a montra,
A way of life, if you will.
Something that starts with bitter pain,
And ends with a white pill.
"Breathe in, breathe out,
Let your mind fills with lies,
Let your words pour doubt.
Tuck away your smile,
Polish your frown.
For love and joy,
Aren't welcome in this town.
Pain is the bride,
And sorrow is the groom,
Only misery provides,
And only tragedy soothes."
This land used to have hope,
Blissful sunsets and flowered slopes.
But now has nothing.
What once was is left as a reminder,
That in every moment that's sweet there is an opposite far more bitter.
And for every hard earned success a flat out quitter.
For every saint a sinner.
