Voices

A Poem by Robert Trakofler (Bad Bunny)
"

A thank you to all of the wonderful voices I have learned from here. I found a burned book in front of my house & saved it. I realized that they may burn the books but the words never go:)

"

__Voices__

Whispers speaking affecting lines

Lifting falling drifting calling

Bitter sweet crave pectin I dine

Churning yearning burning learning

River beam wave reflection wine

Thinking shining linking binding

  Quiver gleaning connections twine

 Behold embrace beheld your grace

Sometimes I try to urge a newer writer to use more sparkling verbs for a dynamic pop . . . this poem of yours could be the poster child for that advice. I love the lines where you use a series of verbs & other words with similar or coordinating sounds. I love how you incorporate your daily discoveries into your poems . . . that burned book is very mystifying! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Always write heart felt true...
Voices express so much more than pitch and tone. There’s a passion, love, compassion, sensuality, and character in each voice, an audible individual print, as you’ve expressed splendidly here.

i agree with Margie...this could be the poster child for "sparkling verbs" as she so aptly put it.

it is wonderful to read poetry like this on the site after some of what we have been reading lately.

pure poetry here....and yes, words are indelible...once they are printed and read, even burnt after that, we still remember.

I will... drink to that! Jacob:)
Dear Bunny, your disturbing picture and poem about burned books fill me with foreboding and angst. Burning ideas, burning dreams, America burning. I feel so often that this is the prevailing mind-set now. Your so intricate rhyme, and so perfect onomatopoeia and rhythm makes this a living, speaking masterpiece. “Behold embrace beheld your grace”- Amen. The beauty and power of words, thoughts, can be immolated, but never be destroyed. Bravo!

:) that's a fine way of looking at it
Yes, I'm afraid books have been burned before, many times and yet the words survive. Your lyrical tribute, if you will, is a fine bit of writing that goes along quite well with the photo of the burned book.

A good job, Bunny

I wonder what I may of said to illicit the book burning but it did take a certain amount of effort:)
