Shadowgraph

Shadowgraph

A Poem by Robert Trakofler (Bad Bunny)

Shadowgraph

Scrivener

Did you hear the epitaph cries

Would you

Mirror the tears to allograph scry?

Capturer

Ethereal Photograph eyes

Could you

Trace sincere pon lithograph sigh?

Listener

Spectral spark telegraph spy

Should you

Scratch revere to phonograph ply?

Composer

mark choreographs imply

hold true

Your compose to autograph sky

The word scrivener caught my eye the other day when I saved this to my library. I always think of the old Melville story when I see that word, and then a whole bevy associations explode in my head. Of course, your poem is not about an ornery scrivener, but, there's that sort of mysterious air surrounding your words that makes another connection in my head.

Connections is a good word for your poetry. Reading it is often like synapses crackling and winding their way to original thoughts. You seem to be working toward some larger question with each new poem, and I feel like they all get you closer and closer to discovery. But then, as I have found, that discovery increases the hunger for further and greater discoveries.

I like the way this seems to be asking the question of how and to what degree we can connect through creativity. As though we are interdependent and bouncing off of one another in working.

Always a journey when I read your work, Robert. And I mean that in the best way.

... as always, a lovely dance with words, a crazy read
from top to bottom, like a dreamer waking up in a vivid
dream, a lucid dream, a dream that chews on the mind,
a dream that hunts unicorns for meat.

Good job, Robert!

you are the composer and I am the listener and your scriverning has captured the autograph sky, felt a bit tense when I read the title, lol, had images of invisible graphs filled with green and red squiggly lines

We can reach so many through our artistry....words. It may mean different things to different people, but it counts....and we all want to count. I always enjoy deciphering your poetry, Robert. It is unique and interesting. Lydi**

Love the alliteration!
Another beauty in your signature style. You prod my thinking Bunny. Back to those halcyon days when poetry was a way of stating truth and questioning lies. Life stretched out before us and as we probed for understanding, we approached that ethereal newness eyes wide open. The divide between listener and composer grew wilder until it blossomed and grew to what we have now.

A good write, Rob.

I always forget to use questioning in my writing, yet when I see it used like this, I love it. Maybe it's becuz I don't spend much time questioning, I just go barreling thru life. What I like about your way of questioning is that there's no embedded bias or emotional reaction. Lots of times when people question in writing, there is a hidden agenda or leading questions. What's so pure about your mind is how you just simply observe & question, as a prod to others to question, but not making any suggestion as to how such questioning might go. It's like your words are stair steps of imagination to give a path into opening up to the possibilities . . . much different than leading questions, which is so human nature . . . we want to control. That's why your writing is so different. It feels like you've completely let go of how the reader might react or which direction a reader might go with your message (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
