Epistemology

Epistemology

A Poem by Robert Trakofler (Bad Bunny)

__Epistemology__

Please do not read…

The dawn of this utterance scries

first drawn inspiration breathed

many stack ages past to rise

cast pon countless conscious conceives

to whispered enlightenment breeze

sentient sentiment surmise

imploring progressions bequeath

cultivate the concepts comprise

crucial crux to humanity

given knowledge to rote comply

chance stealing the epiphany

drink discern the doctrines decry

dash divine your episteme

this evolution spark descry

living epistemology

everything we know today, since knowledge so resembles truth ever since we were old enough to grab ahold of a milk filled tit and suckle, has been turned on it's proverbial head. The news media, the FBI, intelligence gathering agencies, the lower courts, institutes of higher learning, The Pope, (did I miss anyone/anything?) has been vilified and made less true by the singing voices of authoritarian discord. And since knowledge is the "crucial crux to humanity" and the eponym by which human civilization is based/named, we may be in trouble.
Poetry explained: Poetry is the naming of things. It is the naming of all things under the sun, atomic and that which has as it's first chiral center a sugars carbon chain. It's elegance autonomously throws us at the feet of Wordsworth and Plath while trying to explain away heartache and loss. Yet it is flexible enough to include the likes of you and me. Imagine the audacity of such an old and hackneyed assimilation? This poem is our living epistle/ great write . hde rushin

epistemology vs. the crystal ball eh!? :)))))))))) rote vs the "knowing" ... hmmmmmmm and just what is knowing??? a secret perhaps ... ;)
aside from that ... i say ...what h d e says ;))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) because she sounds like she knows something .. a great debate opened sir .. as your poem says .. a stack of ages past .. i saw a cartoon once .. a high rugged mountain upon which scientists were scrabbling about trying to ge to the top .. most were helplessly floundering on jagged edges and steep ravines .. but as the very few neared the top ... and cleared the summit ... what do you think they saw???? well ... a whole convention of holy ones .. who had been there for all time ;) deep thoughts ..with Bunny word play and consonance .. great title .. endless theme

I think we all are guilty of circular thinking:)
This living epistemology is personal for every man, his knowledge only as good as those who have influenced it. I have honestly pondered this quite a bit, with the thought of where I began. How am I to know who I truly AM unless I can carve away all of the crud (thoughts implanted) foisted upon me by others? From the time we are children, we are vessels; and others are constantly planting their ideas, ideals, thoughts, and notions within us. Are our thoughts really our own? Is our knowledge OUR knowledge or someone else's? When do we transition to the point where other voices are silenced so that we can give rise to our own, and is it truly our own or do we only think it is? We have to replace artificial associations with actual life experiences in order to create our own independent epistemology. This is a very thought-provoking write.

oh dear Bunny! You brought up Your best in this humanistic offering, and I feel it was hard for You to write, and when I say hard I don't mean it as it was difficult for You to write it, but it was hard for You, hard on Your emotions, on You heart, Your spirit cries out for the humans, for the world and earth, as if You are feeling that the legacy of those who had gone is also gone with the winds, You feel them as if You are them, their cries, pain and despair for this world, the photo is truly touching to me, Thank You my loving friend 🌸🌸🌸

He he this reminds me of the old saying I know enough to know I know very little:)
The difference between what we believe and what is actually true....ah, there is often a wide chasm there. We need to do research through the years to determine what we believe....and I think that can be different things for different people and they will swear what they believe is the REAL truth. The alliteration in your poetry is always a joy. Lydi**

So very melodic! :)
There are some words that I can look up a hundred times and never get cemented in my mind. I can read books and books about them and write thousands of words about them, but when I step away all that knowledge seems lost. Epistemology is one of those words for some reason. Seems fitting considering. But, reading your poem, I find it doesn’t matter.

I mean, I just feel like in your conception of this: knowledge, poetry, creativity- we have individual paths that get us all some place but only we have the power or insight to discover or understand what that means. History matters as it is a building block or bottom floor, but much more is gained through personal exploration.

I don’t know. That’s how I’m seeing it anyway. That photo of the empty sky with those little waves of clouds kind of exemplifies it for me. The blank canvas of us waiting to make waves out in the world. Hmm. I’ll think about it some more.

Others here had said much more than I ever could. This is a bit like poetry as the root of knowledge. That’s where I would lay my claim. Cool poem, Robert.

Knowledge is power to some, especially our political masters and the playmakers and money men of our world. But yet what is knowledge and more importantly how do we use it. And our ability to dismiss knowledge is a powerful tool. Writ in a style like no other with word play to keep one entertained and seeking knowledge forevermore!

I believe the knowledge of all aspect of life is a living, growing philosophy. Yet times agree on some beliefs. And most often set forth to search deeper essence. It is a never ending personal growth of conscience. The knowledge of ages is only a foundation that we build our epistemology, Robert. This sagacious poem is an attestation of your deep comprehension and intellect. Your power of articulation is stunning.

we are all stories being written...and poetry needed to be exhumed from the past and exhumed as well from the present.
What would Plath and Wordsworth say about the state of things today? Plath would be more depressed and Wordsworth would be tongue tied...
